Salary: £45k to 50k per annum (negotiable depending on skills and experience)
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am – 5 pm. Hybrid; working 1 day at home with some travel.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialist expertise and guidance to support the food safety culture in the Technical team and broader business
• Propose the Company’s stance on emerging trends and develop necessary policies
• Maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) with support from the Quality Systems Manager and provide training to the wider business
• Lead internal audits, identifying non-conformances, and collaborate on actionable solutions
• Spearhead annual product traceability, withdrawal, and recall testing while overseeing risk assessments for new suppliers and products
• Regularly evaluate supplier performance through annual reviews, on-site visits, and external audits
• Lead, engage, and nurture the Technical team, establishing roles and responsibilities
• Support the team resource needs, recruit and onboard Technical team members, whilst fostering individual development, and provide career advancement opportunities through regular reviews
• Ensure timely delivery of product specifications and data sheets to customers, supported by the Technologists
• Address customer complaints within 24 hours and ensure Certificates of Authenticity and Compliance are provided within the agreed timeframes
• Review and enhance department procedures to improve efficiency
Skills and Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Food Safety Management role, ideally within the ingredients industry
• Proven technical expertise with a relevant qualification, e.g. food science degree
• HACCP Level 3/4 Food Safety qualification or equivalent
• Exemplary leadership, interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Strong organisational, adaptability, and collaboration abilities
• High standards of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail
• Customer-focused with a commitment to customer satisfaction
