Technical Operative

We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Operative to join the team at Hutchison’s Mill Kirkcaldy. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic team player while also possessing the ability to work autonomously. A flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to the changing demands of the business, computer literacy, and effective communication skills are prerequisites.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to join a small highly motivated team, working in a multi-faceted capacity. Shift patterns are varied, and comprehensive training will be provided.

Main responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Warehouse forklift duties.
• Operation of packing lines.
• Basic laboratory analysis.
• Operation of flour blending plant.
• Operation of flour transfer system.
• Flour milling.
• Operation of wheat intake by road and boat.
• Adhering to H&S, Food Safety & Critical Control protocols.
• General hygiene/maintenance duties.

• Have previous experience in the food/milling industries.
• Be mechanically minded/possess basic engineering skills.
• Enjoy problem solving and working through to solution.
• Have knowledge of or have qualifications in Food Safety/HACCP.
• Be willing to study UKFM Flour Milling Modules.
