WHAT TO EXPECT

The role acts as the single point of contact for the Vehicle Programme Squads in the Powertrain Domain, responsible for working closely with validation and verification engineers working on a specific vehicle architecture to create, manage & lead the design verification plan for the end-to-end charging system. This includes base software testing, right the way up to vehicle level testing and compatibility with third party electric vehicle charging equipment throughout the whole life cycle of the vehicles.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc. 
  • Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays and identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project.
  • Preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors - Level: A Specialist Professional (P4) is a recognized subject matter expert in job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities typically include: 
    • Managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager. 
    • Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals. 
    • Problems faced are difficult and often complex. Typical Title: Project Engineer, Plant Engineer and undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

In order to be considered for this position it is advantageous to hold a formal qualification such as Degree within Engineering, Business Management or any other relevant subjects. 


The successful candidate needs to have the ability to work independently and proactively, taking full ownership and responsibility for own work; fully invested in achieving a successful result; strong interpersonal/communication skills, including ability to manage, lead & support relationships and communicate effectively at all level and previous experience and background engineering accompanied with a proven track record of successful delivery of Technical Projects.

 

Essential

  • Experience of project management in the Automotive industry.
  • Experience of presenting to senior management and directors in escalation forums.
  • Experience of formal problem-solving techniques, such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbones, Is-Is not.
