Within GETS, Group Workplace Solutions (GWS) vision: to “Create a unified, digital-first, work from anywhere workplace that combines people and technology to empower you to be your best.”. The remit extends to enterprise workplace platforms and systems including client devices, productivity, unified communications, video conferencing, identity, privileged access management, file services and corporate applications. This includes the user journey and UI experience of GWS services and products. GWS also manage mission-critical technical infrastructure for example AD, DHCP and DNS.
The Workplace Tech Programme Delivery team currently has several significant programmes underway. This role is an exciting opportunity to join us on our journey, working within our delivery leadership team as a Technical Project Manager, delivering a wide variety of IT & Cyber Security capabilities to protect, and secure, a complex and ever-evolving environment.
What you'll do
- Ability to manage and deliver complex projects within set timelines, exhibiting a solid understanding of Agile and Waterfall project management principles and practices.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of the UK Telecoms Security, and its impact on areas such as network infrastructure, privileged access management, Active Directory, and Identity and Access Management. Familiarity with Telecoms regulations and standards would be advantageous.
- Proactivity in fostering effective collaboration with various technical partners across the organization. This includes understanding key business functions, maintaining strong relationships at all levels, aligning project goals with business objectives, and contributing to strategic roadmaps.
- Competence in creating and managing project control artefacts, presenting status updates through clear and concise reports. You should be comfortable participating in steering group meetings, and tracking and managing project data such as milestones, budgets, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Collaborative work ethic, partnering with team members to ensure that project results are delivered efficiently. You should bring a structured approach to project execution and foster accountability among team members for their responsibilities.
- Experienced in working in an inclusive environment, understands and values diversity, and is comfortable working to promote these values every day.
What you'll bring
- Experience in working with a range of stakeholders including senior roles up to director level, showcasing the ability to manage, influence, and communicate effectively.
- A solid track record of Technical Project delivery over several years, supported by relevant experience in a project management role. This includes proven ability in managing costs, resources, schedules, and risks to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- The ability to think strategically and tactically, identifying and addressing issues spanning product, technical, and cross-functional domains that impact project delivery. The candidate should have a knack for problem-solving, deriving effective, innovative solutions and collaborating to drive project success.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail. The candidate should be adept at developing clear, engaging presentations tailored to the audience, enabling stakeholders to understand, engage with, and make informed decisions based on the content.
- Competent leader with the ability to motivate team members. While extensive experience leading across all levels of an organization may not be necessary, the candidate should be confidence in guiding team members, and nurturing talent within a technical setting, would be beneficial.
- Experienced in working in an inclusive environment, understands and values diversity, and is comfortable working to promote these values every day.
