Purpose
You will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth by providing technical expertise, sourcing materials, offering customized quotes, and expanding our customer base. You will be responsible for understanding customer needs, recommending suitable solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. Working as part of a team, you would generate quotations/orders through our ProfIT plus system and provide high customer care to our varied customer base. A focus of the role will be Technical quotations, orders, and quotation updates, You would be a confident individual with a minimum of 2 years experience in Engineering who has years of experience of product knowledge and will be able to communicate across both the company and the customer base with ease.
Key tasks
• Accurately action Technical quotes and orders which are sent to you daily.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Communicates verbally & written technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify and engage with new potential customers through targeted searches.
• Participate as a technical resource for the Sales team.
• Works independently and closely with the Sales team, ensure technical support is timely, cost effective and meets customer requirements.
• Analyse customer requirements to prepare customized quotes with accurate costing.
• Raw material sourcing and purchasing. Purchasing of raw materials covering bar, tool clips, P clip blanks & rubber.
• Liaising with Platers, Grinding and coating suppliers to achieve best prices and lead-times on products.
• Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes on customers special requirements.
• Can assist with writing CNC software and production planning. Purpose to reduce cycle times on our long runners. The CNC turning is key for our production requirements.
• To ensure daily completion of quotation updates.
• Ensure 100% departmental completion of Learning Nest modules.
• General sales/purchasing assistance. Answer customer queries confidently and effectively.
• Organising samples for customers as and when required.
• Ensure Customer satisfaction is at the heart of your day-to-day role.
• Actively listen to customer requirements and provide tailored solutions.
• Ensuring all reasonable Sales tasks are completed daily.
• Identify market opportunities and potential areas for expansion.
• Ensure all processes are completed in a timely fashion inclusive of the returns process.
• Respond to requests and queries of the Sales and Office Manager.
Qualifications
• Bachelor s degree in engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the fasteners industry.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical specifications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Self-motivated with a passion for driving results and exceeding targets.
