And that means we always work with heart.​ Whether we’re helping our customers or looking after our people, you’ll find there’s a warmth and friendliness to everything we do. ​ We’re looking for a Statutory Accounting and Reporting Senior Manager (known internally as a Technical Reporting Senior Manager) to join our Insurance and Money Services team with a primary focus of leading the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team of the IMS business. Insurance and Money Services is a newly formed business within Tesco Group, with a remit to provide Tesco customers with great products across everyday Finance needs such as Insurance and Travel money. Given this is a newly formed business, this role will provide the opportunity to stand up a Statutory Accounting and Reporting team with the remit to lead the delivery of compliance with relevant IFRS, Tax and Tesco Group Accounting Policies. You’ll have exposure across the Finance function in this role providing confidence in the integrity of the Statutory financials of the business. The role will focus on ensuring the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team is aligned to support in all aspects of External and Group related statutory accounting and reporting as well as providing advice to the wider Finance team on interpretation of accounting standards including tax related issues and other technical queries. A key outcome of this role is helping to shape the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team needed for a fit for purpose Finance function of the go forward business, ensuring the team structure and outputs best fit the needs of the business. This role will lead the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team within Financial Control and will be a key member of the Financial Control leadership team as well as supporting the broader Finance Function. Key stakeholders will include the Head of Financial Control, Head of Commercial Finance, Chief Financial Officer along with the Product and Cost Decision Support Finance teams. This role will best suit someone who can demonstrate a track record of implementing technical accounting standards and has extensive experience working with external auditors as part of a Group structure. In doing this, the opportunity to put your own stamp on the Statutory Accounting and Reporting team is available. What you’ll be doing * Keeping up to date with statutory reporting changes relevant to the entity accounts of TFPG and TPF and reporting of the results of the IMS business to Tesco Group via HFM. * Delivering a high quality and reliable service to my customers, using analysis and judgement where appropriate and explaining key movements to senior management. * Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, primarily other FC teams, Risk, Planning & Reporting, Decision Support, Group Finance, Legal/Co Sec and Tax to give me an understanding of the business which assists with my ability to interpret and implement relevant IFRS and TGAP. * Supporting other reporting teams in developing appropriate accounting for all types of transaction undertaken by the IMS business to ensure compliance with IFRS and TGAP. * Proactively identifying and managing the risks within Technical Reporting, ensuring they are within the IMS business risk appetite tolerance and policies are complied with. * Developing an appropriate framework to promote the sharing of technical knowledge. * Providing a level of tax support to Finance and the business. * Technical Committee, monthly newsletter, internal training workshops. We need you to have * Professional accountancy qualification (minimum +7 years qualified experience). * Significant previous experience in a finance environment, including general ledger reporting and a strong understanding of statutory reporting requirements and compliance. * Audit Experience an advantage. * Understanding of relevant external regulation. * Proficient user of MS Excel and PowerPoint. * Ability to build relationships across a leadership team and broader Finance function.
