The Opportunity…
We’re looking for you to join us in this exciting journey as a Technical Resolution Lead specialising in General Mechanical and Electrical topics at HPC. Your role is pivotal in ensuring our continuous success, making a significant impact.
As a key member of the expansive Technical Engineering Group within the Joint Design Office (JDO), you'll lead a dynamic team dedicated to resolving emergent design challenges spanning various work areas. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain visibility across a spectrum of project topics, empowering you to tackle technical issues with an open remit.
Pay, benefits and culture…
Alongside a competitive salary range of £57,000
- £67,000 depending on experience, we’re dedicated to offering flexible benefits that support our people across all aspects of their lives. This role will be based on site working at our Hinkley Point C site 3-4 days a week with flexibility of home working the other 1-2 days. There may also be a requirement to attend other offices/stations on a business need basis.

What you’ll be doing…
In this role, we’re looking for you to lead the charge in managing and delivering technical solutions for emergent transverse works issues. These challenges predominantly involve Mechanical and Electrical engineering topics, spanning disciplines like Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, and Civil engineering.
You’ll be utilising your stakeholder management skills in building strong relationships across various teams, including JDO Operation, JDO Design Team, Responsible Designer, Project Managers, Contract Managers, and Construction/Installation Contractors. Your role will also involve interfacing with Nuclear Services Engineering or HPC Design Authority, contributing to Configuration Management Board meetings, and driving initiatives to enhance project delivery. Other daily responsibilities also include:
- Bring organisation and motivation to your role, demonstrating effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Provide oversight and approval for Nuclear Safety Category 3 changes.
- Take the lead in coordinating joint Task Forces for Nuclear Safety Category 2 changes.
- Proactively ensure the delivery and performance of team members by actively following up.
- Participate in and contribute to meetings as and when necessary.
Who you are…
Although a degree, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering field would be desirable, the main ability we’re looking for you to have the confidence to engage in a collaborative environment at HPC, leveraging your leadership skills to coordinate diverse stakeholders and manage change effectively.
Other requirements for this role also include:
- An understanding of UK nuclear safety cases
- Capability to manage change in an evolving environment
- Ability to lead and co-ordinate a wide group of stakeholders using a structured approach
- Able to co-ordinate a wide variety of technical information from diverse sources
- Competence in quickly understand a wide range of technical issues and make robust decisions
- Ability to motivate teams to perform to a high level
- Able to self-motivate and show initiative to complete own work
