This Technical Sales Engineer position is working for a lighting/digital manufacturer. The role is primarily remote, however, there may be the occasional requirement for attendance in office and Central London. There will also be the need to travel to meet clients if necessary. The position is Monday to Friday, and is paying around £50,000, with a car allowance also.
Whilst primarily a lighting manufacturer, the company have recently broadened themselves into the digital market. Due to this transition, the company are now looking for a Sales Engineer, with a background in digital, tech or relevant engineering, to help drive the success of their new digital product range. This background enables the successful candidate to discuss the product, specifications and features with a more technical viewpoint, understanding and knowing the terminology used.
The successful candidate will have a variety of duties and responsibilities. They will be required to lead sales, creating proposals that align with customer needs. They will need to use their sales acumen to ensure conversion of proposals to sales. Through continuous planning and analysis, the candidate will be required to assess the potential, competition and coverage of different markets and opportunities. There will be the need for technical conversations with decision makers and buying customers, so the technical language and background is essential to be able to successfully close sales with customers. There will also be the need for developing sales support tools and lead generation tools to maximise outreach, success and engagement.
You will need:
- A technical, engineering or digital background with strong knowledge
- A proven sales record, ideally with experience selling to customers such as local councils or authorities
- Experience establishing long-term relationships with customers
- A full UK Driving License and own transport
- Excellent time management and organisation
- Strong communication skills
