Combining technical knowledge with sales skills, this role will consult with existing and potential new customers on a wide range of products and services. You will act as the key point of contact for global customer base; answering queries, providing technical advice and demonstrating how to use new products.
This role may include opportunities for occasional international travel to attend trade shows.
You will be responsible for providing pre- and post- sales technical advice and support about products;
- Identifying and establishing new business
- Analysing customers’ needs and recommending products
- Giving demonstrations, training and presentations to help clients discover and understand products
- Liaising with existing clients
- Preparing tenders, proposals and quotations
- Providing pre-sale and post-sale support to customers
- Negotiating contracts, terms and conditions
- Collaborating on reports and sales literature
- Providing advice and support to other members of the sales team
- Establishing long-term relationships with client
Skills/Experience:
- 2- 3 years experience in a customer facing role
- Demonstrable knowledge of scientific research techniques
- Batchelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related science
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This includes being able to present technical concepts to customers with a diverse knowledge base and skill set.
- The ability to negotiate with and influence others
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Detail oriented, self-motivated and highly organised
- IT literate including a good level of skill in MS Office
- Able to confidently analyse and present data
