Job Description:
Kingsley Consulting is seeking a Technical Specification Manager - Flat Roofing to join an innovative sales team. This strategically important role focuses on creating new business demand and generating full system sales opportunities for flat roofing solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales within the construction industry and possess excellent communication and analytical skills.
Role Overview:
The Technical Specification Manager is responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities in the New Build and Refurbishment markets. This role requires a proactive and collaborative approach to engage with specifiers, architects, surveyors, contractors, and resellers. The successful candidate will conduct site surveys, generate condition reports, and provide Technical Specifications and quotations to promote the company's portfolio of flat roofing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and convert opportunities with specifiers within the New Build and Refurbishment markets.
• Act as a consultant and trusted advisor for architects, surveyors, contractors, and resellers.
• Conduct intrusive flat roof surveys, including core samples, and generate condition reports, specifications, and quotations.
• Focus on complete system sales opportunities for flat roofing solutions.
• Manage commercial aspects of contractors, including pricing, rebates, and renewals.
• Maintain responsibility for contractor opportunities from start to finish.
• Deliver targets and objectives set by the Group Sales Manager and monitor progress using analytic reports.
• Provide input to area and channel sales strategy aligned with the wider business needs.
• Present CPD presentations to target customers and potential clients.
• Use platforms to manage sales pipeline, maintaining regular opportunity management and project tracking meetings, and updating the sales dashboard.
Experience & Skills Required:
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google G Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to analyse and interpret data to build an effective sales pipeline.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Comfortable working alone at height and using ladders.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to obtain Basic DBS clearance.
Desirable Competencies, Skills, and Experience:
• Business administration or construction-related qualification.
• Knowledge of the construction and flat roofing industries.
• Familiarity with the product range.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes contributing to project quality.
• Experience in specifications management.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural design drawings.
• Product-agnostic approach to finding roofing solutions.
• Has experienced of building relationships with Architects and Specifiers to introduce construction products or services.
