This is a permanent, full time position working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week with flexible start times between to 7am-9am to suit your commitments. This Technical Support Engineer role is offering a salary of £32-35k per annum plus excellent benefits as below. After 6 months, there is the option to work from home up to 2 days per week if required.
As Technical Support Engineer you will work as part of a well established small team of 4-5 staff in Glasgow, as well as working with the wider EMEA team of 40 staff with responsibility for providing a high level of Technical Support to the large network of customers, distributors and OEMs across EMEA. Duties will include:
- Respond to all incoming technical enquiries (telephone and email) troubleshooting issues with gas generators to ensure they are repaired and in working order asap
- Prioritise incoming emails in order of urgency and respond accordingly.
- Using SMS, ensure all relevant field visit data is captured by FSE’s with system generated visit reports being promptly sent to customers.
- Monitor field stock consumption and work with Service Manager to maintain service stock levels.
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer or a mechanical engineering background
- Good knowledge of electrical/ mechanical fault diagnosis
- Any knowledge of nitrogen or hydrogen gas generators would be highly advantageous but not essential
- Good IT skills including Outlook and CRM systems
- Excellent communication skills both over the phone and written
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and take a logical approach to problem solving
- Fluency in German is desirable although not essential
