We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a technician within our Surgical and Clinical Skills Centre's (DIHS) based within Ninewells Hospital & Medical School. The successful applicant will be required to set up for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities and to provide technical support for the delivery of high-quality procedure-based skills courses including setting up for cadaveric courses, developing animal tissue models and specialist resources, along with maintaining audio-visual and IT facilities. Under the direction of the lead technician, you will be on hand to ensure courses run smoothly and consumable and equipment needs are met. This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months in the first instance.

Yourprioritieswillinclude:
- Work with the Operations Support Manager and DIHS technical lead to support the organisation of the surgical skills teaching facility to support centre users e.g. specialist wet labs, anatomy lab. Role holders will also support the wider DIHS where required.
- Support the co-ordination and planning of resource requests for postgraduate courses including equipment, models, and cadavers. Revise and update all lab notes to include list and location of instruments.
- Apply technical expertise, initiative, and problem-solving techniques to produce solutions for academic requirements such as the design and construction of animal tissue models for course use.
- Technical support during courses to both teaching staff and course delegates
- Liaise and communicate with external stakeholders such as medical companies, external course organisers, and suppliers.
- Provide cross cover technical assistance as required.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, including evidence of team working and the ability to be proactive in responding to the needs of staff and students.
- Good organisational skills and capable of prioritising own workload
- Ability to clearly communicate complex, specialist information both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work with both human and animal tissue.
