Job description

About the Role

As a Technician in the Computing and Games department of our college, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technology infrastructure and services that enable seamless operations across the campus. Under the guidance of senior IT professionals, you will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and apply your technical skills to assist faculty, staff, and students with their technology needs.

The role of a Technician at the college revolves around providing technical support, conducting training, maintaining IT infrastructure, and contributing to the college's technology-driven learning environment. Your combination of technical expertise and abilities ensures a smooth and productive experience for all users across the campus. Additional responsibilities include issuing and ordering equipment, maintaining workshops and rooms as well ensuring the games testing suite is well maintained and learners are adhering to rules of the room.

You will…

You will have worked in a professional IT support environment resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues and may also have had experience of working in FE/ HE environment, supporting students but this is not essential.

You will hold a Level 3 qualification in Computing-based qualification as well as a relevant technical certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent.

You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.

Department Info

You will work as part of the Department of Digital and Games, working closely with the Curriculum team including team leaders, lecturers. You will liaise with the college’s IT Services team also.
