Technician

Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Technician at our Crawley campus. You will join us on a part time, Fixed Term for 1 year and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of Pro rata of GBP22,079 per annum (i.e. GBP10,373.92) plus GBP286.65 Crawley Weighting.

The Technician role:

As our Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation of teaching resources and equipment and ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed. The work you do as a Technician is key to ensuring our ambulance apprentices have a high quality learning experience that will help shape their future.

Key Responsibilities of ourTechnician:

• Facilitating daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation of teaching resources and housekeeping.
• Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment.
• Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments.
• Participating in curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, meetings and promotional activities as required.
• Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans.
• Monitoring and maintaining equipment and prepare replacement plans.
• Ordering and stock taking materials and equipment.
• Cleaning and maintaining working spaces, develop a working environment and provide technical support and assistance for projects.
• Distribution and collection of tools as required on a daily basis.
• Maintaining and updating asset registration.

Our ideal Technician should have the below skills and experience:

• Level 2 Qualification in the relevant subject area
• Following/applying Health and Safety procedures
• Working knowledge of the relevant vocational area
• Competency in using the relevant tools/equipment
