Position Description:
The Automotive Technician role sits within the Cross Functional Test Facilities Team, which is part of Engineering Operations (EO). The team delivers facilities support to the Test Operations team which is part of EO and has as its objective achieving timely, quality product releases through supporting the overall Product cycle plan. In this role you will work within the Cross Functional Test Facilities across various sites, supporting EO activities under the control of EO-10026 for our Client. The purpose of the role is to ensure the safe, smooth, efficient, and effective operation of the EO Test Facilities used for Product Development. You will be required to demonstrate safe working practices throughout in line with the Company’s `Destination Zero’ policies and you will understand the responsibility you owe to yourself and to others in the workplace.
Skills Required:
- Calibration of test equipment (Temperature sensors, pressure & Dynamometers) & Instrumentation Knowledge.
- Experience on electrical maintenance & breakdown.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process, and SPL documents.
Skills Preferred:
- Accurate recording of faults, assist with rectification and further actions required.
- Calibration of test beds and standalone equipment as per schedule or request trough system.
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedules to be followed and adhered to maximise equipment up time.
- Single Point Lessons (SPLs), Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) to be followed and amended as the work changes.
- Customer satisfaction Personal Development activities.
Experience Required:
- NVQ 3 or 4 years relevant technical experience in core competence.
Experience Preferred:
- Ideally educated to level 4 qualification in Engineering, Science or Mathematical discipline.
- Experience of calibration, maintenance and repair of emission measurement equipment and systems.
- Experience in EDU / E machine.
- Experience in the operation of data acquisition and automation systems, and data quality tools including Concerto and Tableau.
