Temporary Investigating Officer – Belfast (Immediate Start Available)

Location: Belfast

Hourly Rate: £17.09

Job Description:

We are seeking an Investigating Officer to join our Client’s team based in Belfast. As part of a Public Sector Body’s Investigative teams, you will be responsible for impartial desk-based assessment and investigation of complaints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and investigate complaints in accordance with relevant legislation and operational procedures.
• Manage a caseload, prioritise tasks, and meet organisational targets.
• Stay updated with relevant legislation, policy, and procedures.
• Conduct interviews and gather evidence to reach conclusions and propose recommendations.
• Prepare high-quality written reports and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

General Responsibilities:

Essential Criteria:

• Degree level education or equivalent, plus 2 years’ relevant work experience; OR minimum 4 years’ relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical and judgement skills.
• Ability to interpret relevant legislation and codes.
• Experience in writing detailed investigation reports.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Experience in conducting challenging interviews.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of investigative practices.
• Research techniques utilisation.
