Job Description:
We are seeking an Investigating Officer to join our Client’s team based in Belfast. As part of a Public Sector Body’s Investigative teams, you will be responsible for impartial desk-based assessment and investigation of complaints.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and investigate complaints in accordance with relevant legislation and operational procedures.
- Manage a caseload, prioritise tasks, and meet organisational targets.
- Stay updated with relevant legislation, policy, and procedures.
- Conduct interviews and gather evidence to reach conclusions and propose recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality written reports and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
General Responsibilities:

- Ensure safety at all times and report accidents.
- Take responsibility for your own professional development.
- Undertake cross-functional project work as required.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree level education or equivalent, plus 2 years’ relevant work experience; OR minimum 4 years’ relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical and judgement skills.
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation and codes.
- Experience in writing detailed investigation reports.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Experience in conducting challenging interviews.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of investigative practices.
- Research techniques utilisation.
