Temporary Works Design Engineer

UBT Recruitment are working with a leading provider of innovative heigh access solutions based in Dartford. They are recruiting a highly skilled and motivated Temporary Works Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. You will be joining a company that is dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services that prioritise safety and quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing Temporary Works structures, ensuring they meet all relevant standards and regulations while delivering practical and efficient solutions for their clients.

Working hours & Salary: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. £40,000-£50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Temporary Works Design Engineer Duties:

• Detailed design of specialist temporary access works structures and systems – typically, light frame structures.
• Design and engineering of new products (R&D).
• Compliance checking, including structural analysis, of existing designs and structures.
• Ensuring design work complies to appropriate standards and legislation.
• Manage output to meet customer / other deadlines.
• Liaising with Engineers, Sales Team, and if required, customers to ensure accurate and functional designs are produced.
• Site visits to measure up and discuss client requirements.
• Extracting key information from preliminary drawings by Sales Team for generation of detailed designs.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural design (steel).
• Local construction industry design experience.
• Strong understanding and experience in Temporary Works Design, detailing and installation
• Practical use and knowledge of structural modelling software.
• Experience with manufacturing steel/aluminium products preferred.
• Experience in system scaffold design
• Excellent knowledge of EN Standards pertaining to steel and aluminium structure design.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with site PMs, Sales Team, other engineers, clients where required.
• An aptitude for problem solving and abstract thinking.
• Happy with UK wide travel to site visits
