Job Title: Tenancy Management Adviser

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Contract: 6-Month Contract
About Us:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tenancy Management Adviser to join our team and provide holistic and person-centered Tenancy Management services across Islington. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering targeted tenant services that empower individuals to maintain their tenancies and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Tenancy Management Adviser, you will be responsible for:
- Providing borough-wide duty and emergency Tenancy Management and casework services, handling more complex 'on-the-day' tenancy issues when necessary.
- Implementing a locality-based casework and appointment system to manage non-emergency service requests, addressing lower-level antisocial behavior, overseeing legal work, and handling other service requests related to the Conditions of Tenancy.
- Conducting proactive interventions to identify and address resident needs at an earlier stage, including targeted visits to those at risk of poor outcomes.
- Overseeing and managing tenant-related work associated with voids and new lettings.
- Ensuring appropriate escalation/de-escalation of cases and seamless handovers within the wider Tenancy Services structure.
- Demonstrating an understanding of the challenges faced by individuals who have experienced disadvantages, such as poor health, unemployment, and trauma, and utilizing this understanding to address social exclusion.
- Providing excellent customer service with a strong commitment to empowering people to solve problems, thrive, and live well.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of housing policy, legislation, housing supply and demand issues, and welfare reform.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience as a skilled practitioner in Tenancy Management services.
- Knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, housing supply and demand issues, and welfare reform.
- Strong customer service skills with a commitment to empowering individuals.
- Ability to understand and address the challenges faced by individuals who have experienced disadvantages.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in managing emergency tenancy issues and complex casework.
