Test Analyst

Somerset Bridge is a market leading insurance claims company, we are recruiting for a Test Analyst to join our Claim Systems, Development and Delivery Team. The successful Test Analyst will be joining a small team of testers collaborating with developers and suppliers to redevelop and automate applications for the business. You will be responsible for ensuring that the functionality delivered is thoroughly tested and working as expected prior to our releases, along with manual and automation work within the business. You will have a proven test background with exceptional understanding of the SDLC and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review the Specification Document to define and create test cases, requirements, scenarios for both functional and non-functional specifications and execute test scripts promptly.
• Review release notes for releases, interpreting what the defect fixes are and understanding the change requests.
• Provide estimates for test scripting and test execution.
• Interprets, executes and documents complex test scripts and scenarios using agreed methods and standards.
• Record evidence of testing, log and raise defects clearly to ensure it can be replicated by the development team.
• Proactive management of bugfix deliveries, accurate recording and allocation of bugfixes.
• Participate in quality inspections of work done by Development team.
• Consult with the business to complete User Acceptance Testing.
• Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders where appropriate.
• Assist with 1st line support when required.
• Have good attention to detail to identify defects.
• Provide demos for the business and create strong user guides.
• Ability to understand workflows for automation testing.
• Mentoring of less experienced staff when needed.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 2+ years’ experience as a Test Analyst (within financial services desirable but not essential).
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation in Software Testing is desirable but not essential.
• Understanding of Test Automation, Behaviour Driven Development, and general Agile principles
• Able to work to the V Model methodology and experience of Agile is beneficial.
• Experience of working with Test Automation Tools such as Postman API is desirable but not essential.
• SQL Server is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Motivated and focusses on self-development.
• Collaborate with other team members within the business and have rapport with stakeholders.
• Have strong communication skills and confidence in engaging with stakeholders.
• Build levels of technical competence within the team and share best practice.
