We are looking to onboard a Test Engineer for a Central Government Organisation to join a Government Digital Service and to help enable efficient delivery of the technical solution and overall service, through efficient and effective Quality Assurance and Testing using several techniques and delivering a number of outcomes.
The role will involve:
- Functional, non-functional and integration testing (inside the solution and with other downstream systems) is in scope to ensure the service and infrastructure meets the needs of public and internal users.
- Meeting the GDS standard is critical and requires automated testing within the build and deployment pipeline.
- Analysing User Stories or Use Cases to create functional test scenarios
- Analysis of non-functional requirements to create non-functional test cases
- Creation of test scripts
- Execution of test scripts and recording of results.
- Implementing automated testing framework for the execution and reporting to enable fast efficient iterations of the solution
- Implementing non-functional testing to prove resilience for a public facing service
- Managing User Acceptance Testing involving small numbers of users/other project teams where integration to such services exists
- Defect reporting and tracking
- Attending and inputting to agile ceremonies i.e. stand up/retro/planning
- Provision of Test Plans and Test Completion Reports as required
- Creation of API test frameworks for integration within the service, and assurance of other integration testing with systems outside of delivery team scope
- Stakeholder management to ensure clear understanding of QA activity and support confidence in the service
- Ensuring Industry QAT best practices in agile are adhered too
The right candidate will need experience in:
- Working as a Test Engineer on a GDS project
- UI Testing
- API Testing
- Functional & Non-Functional Testing
- Working in an agile environment
- JavaScript / Node.js based platforms
- Creating Test Scripts
- Defect Reporting & Tracking
- Good stakeholder management
Role: Test Engineer
Rate: £400 - £550 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 6 months initially, view to extend
Working Pattern: Fully Remote
