Theatre Practitioner

Location: Northampton

Job Type: Permanent Full Time 37.5 hours

Salary: £38,000 to £41,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting for a Theatre Practitioner to join the theatre team at a prestigious private healthcare provider in the Northampton area

The main duties of the Theatre Practitioner role include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of the operating room and ensuring that all required equipment and instruments are sterile and readily available for surgical procedures.
  • Providing direct patient care during surgical procedures, including supporting the surgical team, passing instruments to surgeons, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Monitoring patients' vital signs and responding effectively to any changes or emergencies during surgery, ensuring patient safety and well-being throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborating closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a smooth flow of operations and ensure a high standard of patient care.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of accurate patient records, documenting procedures, medications administered, and any relevant post-operative instructions for patient recovery.
  • Participating in the cleaning and restocking of the operating room after procedures, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring a safe environment for subsequent surgeries

What we are looking for in a successful candidate:

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
  • An appropriate amount of experience in a theatre setting is desirable
