Theatre Team Leader, Empcc | University Hospitals Of Leicester Nhs Trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Theatre Practitioner to join as a Band 7 Team Leader in East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC)
The East Midlands Elective Care Centre is a stand alone unit on the site of the Leicester General Hospital, it's been given a multi million pound investment to improve care and reduce waiting lists for the people of Leicester and beyond.
The successful applicant will lead a highly skilled group of theatre practitioners and theatre support staff whilst liaising with the wider organisation to facilitate a high quality, safe and productive service.
The successful candidate will need to be dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic, with a willingness to lead from the front.
Applications are invited from individuals who consider themselves a strong leader with excellent communication skills, who are visible and accessible, and someone who places quality and standards as a priority. You will also need to be flexible, fair, and adaptable to the changing needs of the service.
Evidence of extensive band 6 experience including leadership and management skills, as well as being able to establish credible working relationships quickly and hold excellent organisational skills are essential.
As this is a new role with changing expectations, a conversation with the Matron would be highly recommended.
You will be responsible for setting the standards and supporting your team to deliver these, sharing the Trust’s values and ambitions, with the patient’s safety and experience at the forefront of what you do. You will also undertake the role of floor control, coordinating theatre activity to cover 24/7 service delivery and providing a direct line of contact for wider site and Trust wide actions
• Provide direction, effective and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi disciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable.
• Act as an expert clinical practitioner providing through themselves and their Theatre Team an excellent quality of care to patients and service users.
• Act as a clinical and managerial role model within the Theatre Team, CMG and across the wider organisation/Division.
• Take responsibility for the provision of a supportive learning environment for all students on placement and newly appointed staff within the theatre for which they are responsible.
• Practice clinically in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for a defined caseload. This will determine that the Team Leader is theatre based and practices clinically at least 80% of their working time or as negotiated with the Divisional head of Nursing/Lead Nurse and Matron.

• Support and develop new ways of working and new role developments.

• Mobilise staff cross site to gain additional skills and work collaboratively with other Band 7 staff to deliver services to patients at all sites.
• Show positive and strong leadership in times of change or crisis.
• Act in a professional manner and ensure self andward/Department staff adheres to the UHL Uniform policy at alltimes.
