Are you looking for your next leadership opportunity? Are you a motivated, creative, compassionate and inspirational person with the skills to lead our Medicine, Neurology Stroke and Oncology Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams?
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Senior Therapy Leadership Team here at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
We are looking for a driven, passionate and highly experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist who is committed to those who require our services, and the staff within our team. We want someone who is focussed on the quality and development of clinical outcomes, as well as the overall management and leadership of the Therapy Service.
This is a key role in our Senior Therapy Leadership Team and UHL. You will provide professional, operational and strategic leadership to the services in your speciality.
As part of the Therapy Senior Leadership Team within UHL, you will be responsible for the overall provision of the Therapy service in your areas. key duties:
• To be a visible clinical leader, leading and providing direction through effective and inspirational leadership
• To undertake clinical activity in the area of your clinical experience
• Ensure the achievement of therapy KPIs
• Support and develop the team to achieve its full potential, and to ensure the highest standards of service delivery
• Drive transformation to ensure that clinical outcomes and patient experiences continually improve
• Collaborate with your teams to reach our collective ambitions, and in particular working to support delivery of the new Trust strategy.
• Represent the UHL within the the integrated care system
• Drive audit and clinical research within the speciality
• The post holder will be responsible for budgets related to their services and the efficient, effective and safe use of equipment and resources used by patients, carers and other staff.

• The role is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary site, but cross site working will be required as teams are based across three UHL sites. The post holder will also join the Therapy Manager on call rota

The post holder will lead, develop and manage the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff with the following inpatient services:
• Front door (Rapid Assessment and Discharge Team) and units across ED floor e.g. Acute Frailty Unit
• Medical wards across at LRI and LGH
• Rehabilitation wards e.g. Ashton unit/ ward 22 LGH
• Stroke services including hyper acute and acute stroke (LRI), ward 3 stroke rehab, ESDS (Early Supported Discharge for Stroke)
• Neurology, including, acute neurology (LRI), Brain Injuries Unit (BIU), Specialised Neurology Rehabilitation unit (LGH)
• Therapists working with Spasticity clinic
• OncologyThese teams currently work across the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI), Leicester General Site (LGH) and community
• This role is based at LRI but travel to all sites where your teams work is expected.
• They will ensure excellent patient care, compassionate people leadership and support the CMGs and trust in achieving their objectives.
• They will be responsible for transformation and continuous improvement of the services at clinical level within a speciality, being accountable for service delivery, service development and budgetary management within a range of subspecialties and have line management responsibility for the Therapy Team leads.
• They will be responsible for liaison and collaboration with the relevant CMG and external teams to facilitate an integrated, efficient, effective and responsive service
• They will provide professional, operational and strategic leadership and as part of the Therapy Senior leadership team. Key roles will be
• Day to day operational management of the services supported by the team leaders.
• Ensure the achievement of therapy KPIs
• Support and develop the team to achieve its full potential and to ensure the highest standards of service delivery
• Use patient feedback to evaluate our services
• Drive transformation change to ensure that clinical outcomes and patient experiences continually improve
• Represent the Therapy services with UHL and the integrated care system
• Drive audit and clinical research within the speciality
• As part of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Senior Management Team UHL, they will be responsible for the overall provision of the Therapy service, in conjunction with the Deputy and Head of Therapies
