Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Till Operator / Cashier. The Till Operator will be responsible for processing customer transactions, handling payments, and providing friendly and efficient service at the checkout counter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers as they approach the till and assist them with their purchases.
• Scan items and accurately enter prices into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments.
• Provide change to customers and process refunds or exchanges as needed.
• Bag items and ensure they are packed safely and securely for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including stocking bags and receipt paper.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns they may have.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling and customer privacy.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a cashier or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
• Basic math skills for calculating totals and making change.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Pay: £7.83-£11.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
