Bank Care and Support Assistant

Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However, you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

We’re seeking a Bank Care and Support Assistants to provide personal Care and Support to our customers who are aged 18 or over and living with a range of physical disabilities. Set three miles from the town centre of Bury St Edmunds, Hilltop House has 12 unfurnished one-bedroom flats.

 

Hilltop House is very proud to have a Great British Care Award for Putting People First/Personalisation and have been highly commended by the Suffolk Care Awards in recent years. We also have an Outstanding rating from the CQC.

The role of Bank Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Delivering a high level of personalised Care and Support and encouraging our customers to live as independently as possible
  • Supporting customers with washing, dressing, bathing, and hygiene
  • Administering medication
  • Assisting customers with shopping, cleaning, and laundry tasks
  • Helping customers to arrange and attend appointments e.g., with their GP
  • Promoting a positive culture by engaging with customers to prevent social isolation
  • Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments
  • Implementing safeguarding principles to ensure the safety of our customers
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Passionate about providing a high standard of care to our customers
  • Previous experience working in a care related role
  • Comfortable working alone
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities
  • NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
