We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager with strong leadership skills and a creative flair to manage the delivery of a quality catering service that meets the high expectations and varied dietary requirements of our customers.
Located in Sanctuary Grove, a purpose-built community on the outskirts of Worcester, Noble House provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s, with a range of on-site services and facilities. In addition, a catering service is provided to an adjoining Care Home. Our in-houseTaste Restaurantis open to customers from 8am – 6pm seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly open manner is essential for success in this role.
Our Chef Manager will enjoy steady hours with no split-shifts compared to other areas of the catering world, which may be a good choice if you have a family to consider, or you don’t necessarily want to be working late nights.
If you want to create restaurant style food without the restaurant style hours, this is a great opportunity to hone your skill set whilst creating innovative menus for our customers in a relaxed environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly open manner is essential for success in this role.

The role of Chef Manager will include:
- Managing the day to day running of a busy kitchen as well as managing a Chef and a team of catering General Assistants
- Designing, planning, and preparing a varied set of menus that cater for individual needs, including special diets and the preferences of each tenant
- Managing all stock and wastage levels, ensuring that the kitchen remains at a professional standard whilst operating within commercial requirements and budget
- Managing the Food Safety Management System and having responsibility for the team understanding and implementing it
- Overseeing all documentation, including auditing, HACCP, Health & Safety
Skills and experiences:
- Proven experience working as a Chef, Catering Manager or Head Cook within a similar environment is essential
- Knowledge of menu planning and costing
- A catering qualification such as City and Guilds 706 1/2 (or equivalent) is desirable
- Carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard
- Assisting with the supervision and development of staff
- Previous experience of staff management and of leading teams within a busy kitchen
- Friendly and approachable with the ability to interact with our customers, visitors, and colleagues
