37.5 hours per week

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join us in the role of Local Service Manager, to join our management team at Sussex Avenue.  If you’re a great communicator and able to encourage, motivate and direct a staff team, then we would love to hear from you.

 

Sussex Avenue has six bedrooms spread across two attached bungalows: The Oaks and The Willows. We provide care and support for adults aged 18 to 65, who have a range of learning and physical disabilities. Our kind and caring team help customers to achieve good emotional health and improve their wellbeing and quality of life.

 

Sussex Avenue is a CQC registered service. We would love to hear from you if you have previous experience in a CQC registered service and held a CQC managers registration.

 

You will be responsible for effectively leading a staff team to ensure that all customers receive focused support. You will ensure that effective support systems are in place and co-ordinate teams to ensure that our customers are provided with the best possible care and support. The successful Local Service Manager will need to be able to offer some flexibility around working hours depending on the needs of the service.

The role of Local Service Manager will include:

  • Leading the overall delivery of the service, through the management of the team and liaison with the Area Service Manager
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with service users and relevant external agencies, liaising effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
  • Delivering contract KPIs
  • Overseeing the service’s financial performance and managing the budget to maximise income
  • Managing the recruitment, performance management and development of staff
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety in the service

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working in a managerial role within a similar service, you will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Compassionate, caring and hard working with a hands-on approach to care management
  • You will have experience of working in a personalised way supporting service users to maximise opportunities for personal development
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
  • Good information technology skills with a working knowledge of MS Teams, Word & Excel. Training will be provided for additional computer systems in use.
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
  • You will have or be working towards a QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care Adult Manager or a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care or a S/NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social care, or equivalent qualification(s)
