Housing Officer
Bow Cross - London
£37,207 - £39,165 per year
37.5 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Neighbourhood Services Team. You will provide a comprehensive housing management service to our residents, supporting them to maintain their tenancies.
You will be responsible for a broad range of duties including viewing and letting properties with prospective tenants, developing neighbourhood improvements and enforcement of tenancy conditions. You will also be dealing with anti-social behaviour and representing the organisation at external and resident meetings as appropriate.
This is a challenging role requiring a proven track record of neighbourhood and tenancy management, coupled with the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
We are looking for self-motivation, commitment and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
The role of Housing Officer will include:
- Effective management of Anti-Social Behaviour cases
- Collaboration with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
- Managing tenant expectations about repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
- Managing complaints about service delivery
- Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (Fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
- General advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
- Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including Domestic Abuse, Anti-Social Behaviour and Safeguarding
- Working with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management process including tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions and service charges
- Enforcement of tenancy breaches
Skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in a similar role dealing with front line customer service
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

£37,207 per annum (rising to £39,165 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
