We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed General Assistant, Cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness at Elizabeth House, whilst adhering to health and safety guidelines. In addition to this, you will also assist with meal preparation. Set in a quiet suburb on the outskirts of Taunton, our in-house Taste restaurant is open to customers for lunch five days a week.
Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, open manner are essential for success in this role.

The role of a General Assistant – Cleaning will include:
- Undertaking general duties as assigned, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen

- Helping to prepare meals and drinks by following food hygiene standards and ensuring the needs of our customers are met
- Working with customers, families, advocates and staff to ensure a high standard of services
- Identifying and reporting potential faults and hazards on site, to maintain a safe environment
- Maintaining stock levels, restocking as required and ensuring equipment is used in line with guidance notes
Skills and experiences:
- Experience of undertaking general cleaning duties is essential
- Some experience of working in a domestic/cleaning environment
- NVQ2 in Hospitality & Catering, or willing to work towards
- Working knowledge of food hygiene standards
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- A general understanding of health and safety in the work place
