VACANCY: TOOL SETTER

LOCATION: SCUNTHORPE

HOURS: MONDAY - FRIDAY 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00, 22:00 - 06:00

Elevate your career with a pivotal role at a prominent manufacturing firm based in Scunthorpe, seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Tool Setter. This full-time position comes with a competitive salary of £30,671.55 per annum and places you at the heart of production operations.


As a crucial member of the manufacturing team, the successful candidate will report directly to the Shift Manager, ensuring seamless tool changes and process initiations that underpin the delivery of high-quality parts to customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the highest standards of safety, adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, and promptly reporting any hazards or incidents.
- Preparing tools and equipment for efficient tool changes.
- Programming and setting up robot heads.
- Utilising cranes for the slinging and lifting of tools.
- Installing tools in presses and initiating start-up procedures aligned with production demands.
- Operating Injection Moulding Presses, including start-up and shutdown.
- Presenting initial parts to the Quality Department for verification.
- Following strict quality and work procedures.
- Communicating faults to the tool-room or maintenance team as per company protocols.
- Completing job packs accurately during and after tool changes.
- Documenting any deviations from standard processes.
- Assisting in troubleshooting and process enhancements under the guidance of the Process Engineer.
- Conducting safety checks, maintaining cleanliness around machine areas, and performing specified routine maintenance, prioritising the safety of colleagues.
- Engaging in Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) activities.
- Tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to tool change times and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Executing colour changes in the production process.
- Undertaking additional projects or tasks as assigned by the management team.
