Our client is currently looking for a Tooling Engineer, they are looking for someone with knowledge of sequential gate hot runner systems and hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders in relation to these systems and tooling cores.

Role Description

• Service and maintain injection moulding tools
• Attend tool breakdowns and diagnose/resolve tooling issues. Informing tooling leader if lengthy downtime is to occur.
• Carry out regular checks of power tools and equipment
• Report to the tooling leader for day-to-day tasks to carry out duties necessary for the smooth running of the tooling equipment.
• Work closely with your tooling leader on tooling issues that may effect production downtime, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs.
• Inform tooling leader of spare parts used and low stock level items.
• Full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Complete tasks on time and efficiently.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the workshop and around machines.
• Always look to improve working practices, systems, and processes in the tool room.
• To support the production section during trials of new tools and products.

Skills and Qualifications

• Mechanical/fitting apprenticeship/training
• Knowledge of Sequential gate hot runner systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders in relation to hot runner systems and tooling cores.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work alone or in a team dependent on jobs and requirements.
• Experienced crane operator due to size of tooling preferred - advantageous
• Ability to plan a job out to ensure everything needed is available.
• Experience of use of lathes, milling machines and surface grinding tables.
• Basic understanding of electrics associated with tool heating and controls.
