SalaryAre you looking for a change or to diversify the work you are doing at the moment, to advance your career? Cobalt is collaborating with a planning consultancy team based in Bedfordshire. They are in search of two Town Planners to join their team - either at Planner or Senior Planner level.
They are a very friendly and hard-working team who have an excellent reputation. With a very active Director, there is a focus on excellent planning work and client-relationships, but less on business development, as they have many ongoing retained clients - so as you progress this will not be a barrier for promotion.
The projects vary from working with SME developers locally to high-end London sites, and major developments in Central London - and you would be fully responsible for small and medium projects, and assisting on majors.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
For more senior candidates, leading on projects, assisting in delegating and starting to take on leadership role; for more junior candidates - assisting seniors on major projects and managing own caseload of smaller and medium-scale applications.
Continuing to maintain relationships with clients in providing accurate advice and communicating effectively.
Dealing with pre-apps and manage planning applications through the development process.
Communicating and negotiating with clients, stakeholders and local regularly.
Ideally, you should possess:
Between 18 months up to ten years of experience in planning, preferably within consultancy, although local planning authority (LPA) experience will be considered.
For more senior hires, ideally some experience in managing renewables applications.
A strong skill set and expertise in development management and strategic planning.
MRTPI or close to submitting.
Excellent written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
