Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone to join our Trade Processing and Settlements team to support the manager of the team in overseeing the departmental staff and functions, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard, and assisting in the implementation of projects and service improvements.
You will be responsible for all business procedures and processes related to booking and settlement of securities transactions against payment and ensure day to day tasks are fulfilled in compliance with our SLAs and regulatory framework.

The base
You'll be based at our Schroders Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It's home to our EMEA Operations and Technology Operations hub.
It has the same high standards and international reputation as our HQ in the City of London, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus (and no commute on the Tube) means life will feel a little different.
What you'll do
- Actively overseeing and coordinating the activities of the team, ensuring BAU and business change workloads are shared evenly and realigning as necessary
- Acting as a senior escalation point for the team, handling complex and sensitive issues with internal and external stakeholders as required to ensure timely and high quality results are achieved
- Leading the Trade Processing Team to ensure standardised performance of day-to-day business
- Continuously reviewing and improving day-to-day processes as well as Adonis processes (once a year) utilising department MI
- Drawing ideas from the team to save time and cost, reduce risk and improve service quality
- Representing the Trade Processing Team in projects, planning, organizing and conducting UAT activities
- Managing Adonis controls, CASS compliance, managing KPIs and unsettled trade reporting
- Ensuring the reconciliation of the Swiss Stamp Tax Journal (quarterly)
- Promoting efficient and independent resolution of trade processing related enquiries
- Reporting and documenting any potential Risk Event
- Responsible for a same-day processing and booking of all securities transactions
- Ensuring a timely and accurate settlement of securities trades against payment
- Handling of Third Party Custody transactions and settlements
- Initiating payments for fund subscriptions, new issues and private equities
- Efficient exception monitoring and handling of STP booking breaks
- Verifying and releasing Swift settlement instructions to Custodians and Third Party Custodians
- Ensuring that all securities bookings and trade settlements comply with internal and external requirements
- Independently resolving settlement and cash related enquiries
- Daily/monthly review of CSDR - Settlement Discipline Rule Fine Reports
- Previous experience gained within a trade confirmation/settlement team
- Experience of balancing daily tasks, queries and project work tasks in a fast paced and changing environment
- Strong people management skills covering staff, stakeholders and other business areas
- IT user skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Core Banking Applications
- Numerical skills and the ability to monitor and produce high quality MIS, and naturally perform root cause analysis
- An in depth knowledge CSDR regulations.
