Pertemps Crawley are working as recruitment partner for our client BOC, looking for a Trade Sales Manager to join their successful, world-renowned brand. As Trade Sales Manager you will be responsible for promoting the BOC brand in a face-to-face role, delivering exceptional customer service and providing knowledgeable product and service advice to customers, driving forward sales and ensuring the continued success of the Rochester branch.

The Role:
- Achieve sales targets for all product groups through the application of high product/process knowledge, effective identification of customer needs, selling skills and customer service levels.
- Utilise product pricing for sales growth, maintaining acceptable margins to achieve sales and profit target - Negotiating price agreements where appropriate.
- Identify opportunities in which to up/cross sell a sale with new/additional products and services e.g., profitable servicing, repair & hire service from the centre, PPE, etc.
- Use internal system to develop and maintain a local customer account database, covering sales revenues, identifying opportunities, and defending against competitive threats.
- Manage a stock holding of bestselling lines to achieve specific targets.
- Continually improve the internal merchandising of the store to maximise customer interest and ensure all local and national campaign material is professionally displayed and promoted.
- Open new accounts for customers and maintain full credit control procedures.
- Ensure that relationships with suppliers are supportive of the purchasing strategy.
- Where facilities are provided conduct local in store demonstrations to assist sales activity. Be competent in demonstrating products and processes sold in store.
- Manage and motivate local store team to assist in meeting the business targets.
- Manage and maintain the site to BOC and regulatory bodies standards and ensure the site is fully secure both day and night.
- Excellent face to face selling and negotiating skills.
- Great commercial awareness - how business numbers interact and profit is achieved in a competitive environment for a local retail outlet.
- Excellent communication and listening skills and ability to relate product features and benefits to prospective buyers.
- A good level of physical fitness and manual handling skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work proactively unsupervised.
- Forklift Truck handling competencies/certification. (Beneficial, though training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Understanding of Gases, Industrial, Safety and welding products and processes. (Beneficial)
- Working hours of Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
- Salary of up to 40,000 + performance-based bonus (dependent on relevant experience).
