AddressRole Summary:
This is an entry-level role suitable for a recent graduate who is seeking a career within financial services. This role will work for CoinShares Capital Markets, the execution arm of CoinShares, and with the Active Asset Management team, which develops and runs actively-managed products and Funds. The post holder will be able to learn from an experienced trading operations team in the fast-growing digital asset space and contribute to the effective operations of both a new set of fund products and to the proprietary and market-making business of the firm.
The post holder will work with the funds’ managers on numerous operational tasks and with CoinShares Digital Securities to assist in the creation and redemption process of the firm’s physical ETF products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Fund Operations
- Assist senior team members in the development and implementation of operational models, financial reporting tools, and processes and procedures for new fund products.
- Liaise with fund administrators each month to obtain and provide them with any information required to compute each fund’s NAV report.
- Work with new counterparties that need to be onboarded to the fund in accordance with both fund and firm onboarding policies and procedures.
- Assist the portfolio manager and traders in ensuring transactions are fully and accurately booked in the fund’s accounts.
- Assist portfolio managers in monitoring the fund’s intraday and end-of-day performance.
- Assist traders with monitoring the status of any open trade orders for the fund.
- Review daily risk reports to ensure fund positions are accurately represented and alert management of any potential action items to consider.
- Learn the risk and performance reporting process to be used in the
monthly investor reporting.
Trading Operations
- Assist the team in the Company’s creation and redemption process for its physical ETF products.
- Daily reconciliation of digital asset custodian balances to recorded product holdings.
- Work with senior Operations team members and digital asset custodians to create new wallets for digital assets held by the products and whitelisted addresses for transactions between counterparties.
- Assist the Operations team with the movement of assets across different trading, brokerage, and bank accounts to support the firm’s proprietary and market-making activities.
- Operate financial tools to review and report profits and losses of proprietary and market-making trading activity.
- Reconcile broker, bank, and exchange web portals and statements to ensure transactions and positions match the company’s records.
- Work with Operations team to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and reducing risks.
Business Development
- Supporting new initiatives for the CoinShares Capital Markets business including onboarding new external parties via exchanging AML/KYC information and completing any other documentation requirements.
- Support the Head of Hedge Fund Solutions and Deputy Head of Trading Operations with other firm initiatives.
Undertaking any other such duties as may be reasonably required by the role.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- A recent Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is essential. A degree in accounting, finance, economics or business management is an advantage.
- Previous experience in financial services is an advantage.
- Experience in Excel or Google Sheets is essential.
- An eye for identifying opportunities to turn manual tasks into robust automated processes is desirable.
- Strong analytical and research skills are essential.
- Proven attention to detail is essential, reflected in the ability to follow complex and precise processes and instructions.
- Interest in crypto financial markets and blockchain is essential.
- Experience working with custodians is desirable.
