This is a developmental role for a First Level Registered Nurse to complete the Advanced Practice Pathway The Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner will continue the MSc pathway undertake either a two/three year Period of Masters (Level 7) academic study, whilst simultaneously gaining clinical experience, within a team to provide an acute care for Solid tumour and Haemato- oncology patients. They will work within the inpatient and Clinical Decision Unit setting, clinically assessing patient, ordering and interpreting investigation and providing a high standard of care to our patients They will work alongside experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners and their medical colleagues to deliver healthcare complementary to the medical role to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for patients. The Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner will develop their competences to be able to clinically assess patients who have a complex needs and who are acutely unwell. They will work towards ordering investigations and prescribing medications within the capacity of non-medical prescribing as appropriate.
They will demonstrate effective leadership and provide expert clinical and oncology advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals. They will demonstrate excellent communication and maintain clinical excellence underpinned by evidenced based practice. They will collaborate within the multi-disciplinary teams referring patients as appropriate to provide a patient focused service.
