Location: Sizewell B, Leiston Suffolk.
Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum DOE + Benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Trainee Engineer / Technical Author - The Role:

As a member of our technical publications team, you will support the creation and updates to a suite of technical documentation for the UK's only Pressurised Water Reactor, gaining invaluable real-world skills and experience.
Opportunity:
- Work onsite a fully operational, nuclear power station
- Be part of an engineering team that support the day-to-day running of the UK's only Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR)
- A unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced Technical Author on a variety of technical documents including:
- Installation
- Commissioning / Decommissioning
- Testing
- Operation and Maintenance
- As part of the role, you will be involved in gathering and processing complex engineering data:
- Creation of new technical documentation and amending existing documents
- Data verification and clarification - documenting observations, engineering changes and new equipment installations
- Updating critical procedures and plans for equipment within the power station
- Ensuring plans and drawings are representative of the latest build specifications
- Help inform procedures, policy and plans
- Be embedded in a safety critical culture, learning real-world skills and gaining invaluable experience of a nuclear power station.
Trainee Engineer / Technical Author - Candidate specification:
• Good understanding of engineering data in a variety of formats from Engineering drawings to Design Reports
• Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
• Adequate competency using different software packages for planning/reporting purposes
• Initiative, drive and adaptability to build your career, with support from our leaders
• A pro-active, open-minded thinker that can provide potential solutions
• Ability to track production of tasks from conception to completion
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing customer requirements
• Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria

• Knowledge of nuclear technology an advantage, but not essential
