Reed Financial Services are delighted to be able to represent a well-established Wealth Management firm based in Swindon in their search for a Trainee Financial Advisor.
This would be a golden opportunity for someone with industry experience looking to make that step up to becoming an advisor.
The role would entail shadowing an existing Financial Advisor to learn the ropes of advising.
The successful candidate will provide support to the firms clients both technically and emotionally, alongside the Adviser and others within the firm, by relaying Adviser financial advice where appropriate. In addition, become a trusted point of contact and conduit between the Adviser and team with the aim of becoming an Adviser over an agreed period of time.
Responsibilities
• Create a concise and detailed meeting note for each of the client meetings attended.
• Accompany Adviser to all external client meetings and be willing to drive both yourself and the Adviser, on the basis the Adviser will work throughout the journey.
• Assist and manage queries which arise that are of a technical nature, liaising with the Adviser where appropriate, to deliver consistent and detailed responses.
• Be self-motivating to ensure all tasks set are completed in a timely fashion.
• Ensure client outcomes are at the forefront of every task to make sure client satisfaction is kept to a high standard.
• Be approachable with the aim of supporting the entire team.
• Act as a conduit between Adviser and the office to redirect the bulk of queries so that he/she can focus on business opportunities.
• Maintain an appropriate level of functional and technical expertise (knowledge of products, procedures, services, and systems)
• Being commercially aware of the world around you e.g. markets, regulation, politics and all the headlines in between to remain effective.
• Identify and deliver opportunities to develop the business.
• Liaise with the Managing Director in the first instance regarding any issues which need escalating.
• Liaise with the relevant technical departments within Head Office to increase technical knowledge.
• Show willingness to expand and increase knowledge in all areas of financial services including undertaking further exams (if appropriate)
• Ensure all client prospect cases are monitored and update where necessary.
• Actively book ‘prospect’ client meetings with Adviser (for example, following a British Airways seminar)
• Proactively monitor your own and Adviser diaries to promote effectiveness.
• Stay entirely relevant on all elements of Contingent Charging.
• Ensure reviews are being completed in line with our client review strategy. Book in meetings where necessary
Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
- Demonstrate practical awareness and up to date knowledge of retail financial products and current regulatory expectations.
- Analytical in solving tasks with a keen attention for detail.
- Possess excellent organisational and time management skills with an ability to work under pressure and prioritise.
- Deliver effective and positive communication, and demonstrate competent use of IT.
