Role description
We have an exciting opportunity for a TraineeLoss Control Engineer to join our team. This would suit applicants looking to move into a risk management role from Claims, Broker, Underwriting, Engineering or other risk management disciplines, for example.
This role will require travel across your region and you will be supplied with a company car.
Key responsibilities
The primary role is to undertake property, casualty, motor trade and construction risk control surveys, both remotely and on site. Engaging directly with the customer, you will determine if the hazards associated with the trade are adequately managed, negotiate any risk improvements and produce reports within agreed quality and service standards. Other activities include collaborating with other business areas, dealing with technical referrals, training and sharing of best practise as appropriate.
Full training will be provided which incorporates a fully supported 2 year programme designed around your current knowledge and skill set. Upon completion you will have achieved your NEBOSH General and Construction Certificates, along with relevant Allianz Global Risk Engineering and Consulting training certifications. Upon completion of any initial training, support is also provided for you to pursue other relevant professional qualifications, e.g. NEBOSH Diploma, IFE, IRM.
Skills & experience
To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of insurance, gained from a current or previous role in risk control, risk management, brokering, underwriting, engineering or claims areas, along with:
- Sense of commercial judgement and business acumen.
- Organised and articulate with an attention to detail.
- Highly proactive approach to personal development, service delivery and ability to demonstrate positive behaviour.
- Ability to assess risk, the exposure it presents to the Company and the application of appropriate Loss Control measures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Valid and current UK driving licence essential
- Educated to A-level or degree level standard.
- ACII qualified, other risk management qualification, or continuing progress towards is preferred
