Job description

This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in the office 5 days a week, working hours are as follows: Mon- Thurs 8:30-5pm, Fri 8:30-4:30pm.

Position Summary

Occupational Health and Wellbeing services are central to our operations here at Nestlé. We are a multi-disciplinary nurse led service working in partnership with our stakeholders. We aim to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of our workforce. We provide advisory services; we are not treatment based. No previous experience in Occupational Health is required for this role, appropriate support and training will be provided.

In this role you will be based at our Head Office in York and with appropriate support you will be responsible for health screening assessments and initial enquiries within the team. After successful completion of the probation period, you will apply continued learning in the field of Occupational Health and wellbeing, undertaking telephonic case reviews, building knowledge and we will look to fund external education in support of an Occupational Health qualification.

You will take part in a remote OH course at Robert Gordon University and we’d like the successful applicant to commence the course in September this year, meaning you must be available to join our business in April or May.

A day in the life of a Trainee Occupational Health Nurse Advisor....

Reporting into the Occupational Health Manager, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Clinical triage and responding to initial Occupational Health enquiries.
  • Remote, telephonic assessment.
  • Support the delivery of Health & Wellbeing initiatives.

Induction will be provided into the role with continued support and supervision. Travel may be required on occasions to visit Nestlé sites to gain experience of operations as part of the applied learning. The role will be developed in line with applied learning.

What will make you successful?

To be considered for this position, we’re looking for candidates who are looking to further their learning journey and transition from a treatment position to an advisory role within a corporate environment.

Key requirements for the role are:

  • Registered Adult Nurse (RGN) on Part 1 of the NMC Register.
  • RN1/RNA: Adult Nurse Level 1
  • Candidates to be registered as a general nurse, with at least 240 credits to be able to make a successful application to join the course.
  • Experience following post registration in an NHS clinical setting.
  • Systematic and process driven, IT literate and with previous knowledge and experience of using an electronic health record or management system.
  • Commitment to undertake external education in support of an Occupational Health qualification.
  • Show high levels of attention to detail with good organisational and time management skills.
  • You will be able to communicate well with a variety of stakeholders and establish rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders.
