Two fixed-term posts for up to 2 years
Salary: £23,121.00 - £24,462.00 per annum.
We are looking to recruit two Trainee Solicitors, on a fixed-term basis, to join the Legal Services Department within West Yorkshire Police. This role will be based in Wakefield with regular Court hearings throughout West Yorkshire.
In this role you will undertake a 2-year training contract providing a comprehensive legal service to the Chief Constable. The training contract will cover at least 3 areas of law as required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
The successful candidates must have successfully passed the Legal Practice Course, and will also ideally have proven case handling experience in a Solicitor’s office or a similar legal environment.
Though it is not deemed essential it would also benefit your application to possess advocacy experience and knowledge of civil law relating to the Police Service.
You must be prepared to travel for business purposes.
Existing WYP staff and Officers applying for this role on a secondment basis must have the support of their District Commander or Director.
