37 hours a week, working between 7.30am and 8.30pm. Will include working two out of five weekends.

We have a dedicated and passionate team, who deliver intensive support to clients living in the service. This role requires a proactive, and flexible approach. This role has been created to provide an opportunity for someone with lived experience of homelessness, substance misuse, mental health support needs or a history of offending. We will give preference to applicants with this background. This is a fixed term contract for a year and is a great entry level position which can lead on to the role of Support worker.
You will be working as part of a team to provide support to our clients who have mental health, substance misuse and physical health support needs. You will love helping others and enjoy supporting individuals to achieve their goals and to become more independent. Your positive attitude towards your work and others will help to contribute to a new, exciting service.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will learn how to assess and support our clients
- You will help the Support Workers by co-ordinating various service responses
- You will encourage client involvement in their personal progression in the form of education, training, employment activity or volunteering.
- You will support key workers by working with external partners (such as colleges) to maximise the opportunities available to them so that they can resettle in the community.
- You will empower clients to achieve their goals
- You will help them with their practical skills in areas such as budgeting, shopping, cooking and housework.
- You will maintain records using relevant systems to a good standard
- You will attend training, supervision, appraisal and meetings as directed which maybe outside of your working hours.
- Any other reasonable task as requested by a member of staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Previous experience in this type of work is not essential but you will have a real passion for wanting to support others and have a direct personal experience of coping with homelessness, care services, mental health, substance misuse or offending behaviour. Your values will match ours, you will be committed to helping others and enjoy the real job satisfaction that this brings.
- Clear verbal and written English
- Interest and genuine concern for mental health, housing and related issues
- Basic IT and keyboard skills
- Polite, assertive manner, ability to self –motivate

We support 16-65 year olds. Our services include outreach to rough sleepers, supported accommodation (direct access hostels, move-on accommodation, and resettlement flats), day centres, community support, housing first and landlord support services.
