Job purpose

Bridgeway Consulting currently work on large infrastructure projects on the railway and highway networks across the UK and we are looking to expand the Geomatics department. Previous experience in surveying is not required as you would be joining an established, experienced team and would be supported throughout your learning journey with us. There are plenty of opportunities to progress within the team and we encourage everyone who joins to do so. The work is varied, and you’ll be contributing to improving the countries transport connections whilst getting your hands on some of the latest measurement technology and computer software. All we ask is that you’re keen to get stuck in, happy to travel and are prepared to work outdoors!

Duties

• Assist Engineering Surveyor or/and Project Delivery Surveyor with “on-site” survey operating instrument or setting up equipment as directed.
• Use equipment in the correct manner and keep it clean and functional before returning to stores.
• Carry out surveying tasks to the correct level of accuracy.
• Complete site documentation/records for all works in the field.
• Carry out data processing and validation to required specification, submitting to Engineering Surveyor for verification as per deadline.
• Undertake Safety Critical duties in line with competencies held and certification gained.
• Undertake other duties in accordance with the requirements of the company.

Essential skills & requirements

• Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively on your own and take initiative.

Essential qualifications

• Must hold a full UK (manual gearbox) driving licence.

Desirable (but not essential)

• A degree in a relevant field such as Geography, Ecology, Civil engineering, Geographic Information Science/GIS.
