This role involves leading a team to manage financial transactions and ensuring financial compliance within a not-for-profit setting. The post will support the Head of Finance in delivering an efficient and effective finance function by taking responsibility for reporting on customer and supplier accounts, and ensuring that payments are made, and monies are collected in accordance with terms of contracts.

Description
- Responsible for implementation and maintenance of systems, processes and procedures relating to the purchase ordering, invoices, and credit card processing, and making payments.
- Responsible for identifying and implementation of any new solutions to introduce modern ways of working and increase automation, efficiency, and effectiveness of the finance department.
- Responsible for training, development and output of the transactional team.
- Manage and oversee the accounts receivable function
- Manage and oversee the accounts payable function
- Lead on the checking and payment of regular BACS and ad hoc payments on the bank and be responsible for ensuring all data is complete and is compliant with agreed financial procedures
- Prompts analysis of suppliers' queries, including suppliers' statements reconciliations to enable monitoring of accuracy and completeness of accounts payable ledger.
- Monitor aged creditors and aged debtors, ensuring issues are addressed as part of the month end process. Compiles accruals and prepayments listing for the month end process.
Profile
A successful Transactional Finance Manager should have:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- AAT or part qual CIMA, ACCA or similar.
- Experience in managing a Transactional Finance team and function.
- Prior system implementation experience (essential).
- A proven track record in process improvement.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
