YOUR ROLE


Our Multi-User operation based in Kettering have an exciting opportunity for a meticulous and performance driven Transport Clerk where you will support the Transport Supervisor and Drivers with daily pre-brief and de-brief to ensure as an operation, we execute accurate and smooth deliveries throughout the day.


This role will be shift based, therefore we are looking for someone to work a rotational shift of 5am-2pm, Monday to Friday.


WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?


Reporting into the Transport Supervisor, you will ensure drivers are de-briefed ad dispatched with all the necessary paperwork and maintain regular contact throughout their shift, ensuring they deliver to plan and mitigate the risk of delays for the client and customer. You will conduct de-briefs with drivers at the end of their shift to determine any issues capture defects and report all feedback on journey execution to the Transport Supervisor and Transport Manager.


You will manage incoming calls to the transport office and liaise with wider warehousing operations ensuring client products have been loaded and unloaded accurately and on time.


You will ensure that all new agency workers fully complete induction procedures inline with company compliance requirements and policy. You will also be responsible for upholding and promoting transport compliance, where you will ensure that defects are raised and reported, inspections and services are completed inline with the operational schedules and that the fleet is maintained to a high standard inline with the companies O’ Licence obligations.


WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


To be successful in your application you will already be operating in a Transport Clerk or coordination role, with experience of operating in a transport office or operations environment. You will have experience of managing and maintaining fleet and driver records, with an understanding of transport regulations. You will be comfortable engaging with individuals at all levels both inside and outside of the organisation via telephone and email, be a natural communicator, problem solver and team player, who is able to manage conflicting priorities to meet operational deadlines.


You will have previous experience of using Transport Management Systems such as Trans-NET, P44, Mircrolise, or equivalent and have working experience of relevant MS Packages such as Word and Excel, experienced in managing, updating, and analysing spreadsheets.
