DHL, award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
- Responsibility for the organisation and control of the transport resources ensuring the delivery of a high quality and cost efficient service to customer.
- Assist with the smooth and efficient day to day running of the transport operation in order to deliver the required service levels and costs to the customer.
- To maintain and improve Health and Safety standards within the Transport Operation. To adhere to all company policy and procedures.
- Understands and works to the time sensitive nature of the deliveries and collections.
- Complete accountability for the contract fleet and O'Licence compliance including fleet maintanence, drivers hours and site health and safety. Provide detailed data results and operational cost efficiency.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Previous and practical experience as a Transport Manager within a logistics environment.
- CPC international – essential
- Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices.
- Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders.
- Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports.
