This Transport Supervisor role will be ideal for someone who is based within the Shefford/Letchworth area. This is the perfect time to join this progressive company and become a key member of the team based in this flagship depot/office. If you have worked as a Hire Controller, Hire Manager or service coordinator in plant/fleet/rental or hire and managed drivers then we would love to hear from you.
The Company- Transport Supervisor - with responsibility for plant
Working for a leading hire company who supply specialist plant hire equipment to the construction hire industry.
The Role of Transport Supervisor:
- Ensure all transport movements of plant or tools are undertaken within the region and nationally are executed in an efficient manner.
- Most of your working week will involve covering transport / logistics for all the depots within the business.
- You will be working within compliance, health & safety is foremost ensuring all of the drivers are working within company and legal guidelines.
- You will be progressing the hires from your internal team, planning the routes/collections and contacting your drivers via phone/PDA/ custom built app
- You will review performance and carry out KPI's and driver audits using telematics data, preventing accidents & investigating infringements, advisories & training gaps.
- Liaising with yard, workshop, operator and fleet management departments to ensure all the depot targets are achieved regarding transport.
- Daily download of tachos and debriefs
Candidate:
- As the Transport Supervisor you will be a well organised individual working closely alongside your team members and Director
- Knowledge of plant hire, operated plant & the transport industry and legislation is preferred for this role
- You may hold a Transport Manager CPC.
- You may have been a plant manager, regional transport controller, transport coordinator, transport administrator, transport planner or an existing Transport Supervisor.
- Manage the Co-ordination of transport, staff & drivers locally and nationally.
- Managing and training your team of drivers - recruiting additional staff as the need arises.
- Previous experience of co-ordinating haulage and transport legislation is essential.
