The Travel Centre is looking to recruit a Part Time Travel Centre Consultant to join the team based in the Old Market Square.
About the role
As a Travel Centre Consultant, you will process NCT Smartcards and handle all queries and comments from the public, promoting NCT’s activities and providing a positive interface with passengers.
You could be processing variants of Easyrider applications and renewing cards either Face-to-face in the Travel Centre or online, assisting customers with timetable enquires, journey planning and advising best value fares and tickets on Monday. However, on Tuesday, you could be representing NCT at an external event away from the Travel Centre.

Other duties will include:
- Receiving payments by cash, invoice and processing credit and debit card payments.
- Handling customer enquiries and comments face-to-face; advising procedures for purchasing Easyrider products, Mobile App tickets, discounts offered and making complaints/comments
- Handling lost property queries and administering the lost property systems in place to meet Company and legal requirements.
- Assisting in the Call Centre as and when required.
About you
You will be confident, approachable and a good communicator with strong customer service and organisational skill. In addition, you will have the ability to work as part of a team, be flexible to work on a Saturday if required, and be a competent user of IT systems with an excellent telephone manner. Finally, you will have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure the Company’s GDPR policies and procedures are adhered to when handling and storing customer/client information.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday (12.15 -17.15) with the flexibility to work on a Saturday if required.
Salary and Benefits
- 15,270.54 per annum
- 25 days holiday per year pro rata plus recognized Bank Holidays
