The Finance service in Camden has an ambitious vision to ensure consistent delivery of a high-quality, value-added service with excellent financial controls. We will do this through an exciting journey of continuous improvement, change, challenge, and innovation. To be successful we’ll need to constantly adapt to meet the needs of the organisation. The first phase will realign and increase the capacity of the Finance department, so Camden will be recruiting a number of finance roles over the coming months.
The Treasury and Pension Fund Manager oversees the management of both the Pensions and Treasury functions, provide strategic financial guidance and establish strong working relationships with finance colleagues and external consultants to have a significant and positive impact on the delivery of the Pension Fund and Treasury Strategy. Some of the key responsibilities will include.
- Developing an insightful approach to financial challenges and opportunities across pensions and treasury
- Acting as an advisor for key financial decisions in support of the Pension Fund and Treasury Management Strategies
- Providing financial assurance through robust controls and adherence to financial policies
- Champion the service, be a visible and approachable as a point of contact and promote collaborative working relationships across the Council
To be suitable for the role you need to be a qualified accountant or have significant relevant experience. Extensive knowledge and experience with both Treasury and Pensions function including investment, cashflow forecasting and reporting requirements is essential, as is the ability to explain complex financial information to a range of stakeholders.
