Treasury Manager Opportunity in Liverpool City Centre
Adele Carr is supporting a client who is actively looking for a Treasury Manager to join their team and take on a pivotal role in our finance team.
This is a full-time, permanent position with the flexibility of hybrid working, allowing you to work 2-3 days per week remotely. With a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £58,000 per year, this role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled finance professional.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead and oversee the treasury function, including managing cash flow, optimising cash investment decisions, monitoring financial returns, debts, banking relationships, forecasting, reporting, and risk exposure.
- Develop and maintain efficient cash flow processes, optimise payment methods, and ensure the accuracy of cash flow forecasts supporting statutory returns for the PPC and Office for Students (OfS), covering both short and long-term cash requirements.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance (DoF) and Head of Finance Operations (HoFO) on loan and credit arrangements, including bond management, modelling, assessment, and implementation of new loan facilities or funding options, ensuring compliance with all loan and credit facilities, including drawdowns and repayments.
- Manage the University's debt position, including producing reports and providing senior management with commentary for committee reports, overseeing the Credit Control Team, and providing guidance to the Student Fees and Funding Team on academic-related debt.
- Oversee foreign currency transactions and exposure, providing timely advice and guidance on major currencies to minimise exchange risk.
- Ensure compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), chair working groups, raise awareness among stakeholders, and monitor risk exposure related to PCI compliance.
- Develop and manage relationships with external third parties, including banks, investment managers, credit rating agencies, lenders, BACS, advisers, counter-parties, card acquirers, and payment pathway providers, while networking within the HE sector to inform decision-making.
- Maintain audit requirements and financial policies and procedures related to treasury, monitor compliance with changes in legislation and accounting standards, and support the risk management process through compliance and process documentation.
- Establish a community of practice to manage procedures, reports, policies, system developments, and future planning, including guidance on acceptable payment acceptance options.
- Develop and maintain treasury management policies and procedures, ensure regular review, communication, and compliance, and identify and deliver improvement projects to enhance service and process efficiency.
- Provide leadership and management to the treasury team, ensuring staff motivation, development opportunities, and formal professional financial training if applicable.
